If you prefer a more budget-friendly hotel, you might consider The Big 5 Chobe (Toro) Lodge in Kazangulu near Kasane and Chobe Game Reserve. Toro Lodge is the affordable alternative to Chobe Safari Lodge. Due to the popularity of the Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Lodge, you might be forced to look elsewhere for accommodation or Senyati Safari Camp might be the answer.

If you want to experience something very special, you can visit the Makgadigadi Pans, about 8 hours from Cresta Lodge. Under giant Baobab trees is a very special lodge named Planet Baobab. The Makgadigadi Pans are the world's largest pans. Include a star safari or a quad bike adventure while you are there.

NAMIBIA
There are daily flights from Gaborone to Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. Windhoek Country Club and Casino is Cresta Lodge's preferred hotel in Windhoek. From Gaborone, you can take the gravel road west toward the Skeleton Coast National Park and from there south to Swakopmund where you can stay at Swakopmund Hotel.

Etosha Lodge is a luxury hotel with excellent service. If you decide to tour Namibia, you would most likely visit Etosha National Park, where you can stay in the Halali Camp just Eastern half of the park.

ZIMBABWE

You can easily reach Zimbabwe from Gaborone within a day. If you enter the country at Plumtree, your first visit will most likely be the Matobo National Park, where Cresta Lodge recommends the beautiful Matobo Hills Lodge.

From the Matobos, you will travel through Bulawayo and then be en route to Hwange. Hwange Safari Lodge is near the Botswana border, but it is best to allow two days to drive there from Cresta Lodge in Gaborone. Therefore, a night in Matobos or Bulawayo is recommended.

From Hwange, it will take you about 9 hours to drive to Kariba, but the effort will be well worth it. If you prefer slightly cheaper accommodation, you can stay at Cutty Sark Hotel, which is one of only two remaining hotels in the town of Kariba.
